Earlsdon Christmas
Wednesday, December 21, 2011

More local businesses, volunteers and organisations are being urged to get involved with a traditional Christmas celebration in Earlsdon, taking place on Thursday, December 15.

Already several businesses have joined forces in the ‘village’ to help create the special festive event that will take place from 5pm.

Many of the local shops and businesses around Earlsdon Street will be holding events and staying open during the evening, which will see Father Christmas visiting to greet children.

Musical entertainment will be provided by carol singers, the Three Spires Barbershop and a violinist, while Kendalls Deli will be showcasing traditional Christmas food and drink.

Collections will be made on the night for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance service.

Laura Shortland, director of estate agents and chartered surveyors Shortland Horne – which has an office in Moor Street, Earlsdon, said: “It promises to be a really nice, traditional Christmas event and lots of businesses have already said they are keen to support it. We will be staying open on the evening offering Christmas treats and incentives to those able to visit.

“The more help we can get from other companies or maybe even local entertainers, such as magicians or jugglers, the better.

“There is a great community atmosphere at the Christmas event in Earlsdon and we would like as many people as possible to join in the festive fun and enjoy it.”

Theresa Kendall, who runs Kendalls Deli, said: “It really does capture many of the traditions of Christmas which is what makes it so special.

“We’ve already got lots of businesses and organisations helping out such as The Rotary Club of Coventry Jubilee Rotary Club and The Albany Club. That support is vital to make the event a success.”
