Eco-Energy efficient home

Triple glazing to rear windows

Air ventilation system (see description)
The house has a fully integrated built- in ‘Mechanical heat pump and ventilation system’ which is controlled by the control panel in the hallway. It provides fresh filtered air through rigid metal ducting (which was installed when the house was built) into the house from the outside through a unit which is housed in the roof. The air in the house gets recycled approx. every 2 hours on the setting we have it on at present. It operates 24/7 and 365 days a year supplying fresh filtered air into all rooms (excluding hall and landing). It also extracts stale air from the kitchen and all bathrooms ensuring that there’s no need to have trickle vents in windows or extractor fans in the bathrooms. We don’t get any condensation in the house. The system helps to control the overall temperature in the house with the under floor heating.
The only maintenance needed for the system is to change the air filters in the unit in the roof about once every 6 months.
In the summer the temperature of the system can be reduced down to 15c to give a cool and refreshing feel in all the rooms, providing the windows and doors are closed. This is not an air conditioning system.
